Late Shift Staff Wellbeing Checks – Matron / Senior Nurse Feedback

We continue to acknowledge the pressure which our nursing staff are working under and know how difficult it has been, and continues to be, to staff our wards and additional areas. We review and risk assess our staffing position on a daily basis, and still find ourselves needing to move staff around to support them.

We extend our sincere thanks to you for supporting your colleagues and our patients in these areas. We know this is a big ask, particularly at night when there are fewer Sisters, Matrons and senior staff on duty.

As you will be aware we launched a Matron ‘late’ shift till 10pm on both the Castle Hill and Hull Royal sites (Mon to Fri) whose role is to visit all wards, provide support to staff, ensure staffing plans are communicated and ensure you feel supported and listened to.

This initiative began on 11th July and we are keen to seek your feedback. Please let us know what you think by completing this short survey. We hope this idea is helpful, particularly to staff who are working away from their base wards, but again do let us know what you think or if you have any ideas for further improvement.
